Are lip fillers painful?
Lip fillers are usually painless due to the use of both a topical numbing medication and an injectable numbing agent. We also have several other techniques to make the treatment tolerable and comfortable.
Is there an extra fee for numbing me?
BabyFace MedSpa clients do not have to pay extra for numbing treatments, this is complimentary as we want to ensure your experience is an enjoyable one from start to finish!
Are lip fillers safe?

What are lip fillers made of?
Typical Hyaluronic Acid-based fillers for the lips include Belotero, Juvederm, Restylane L, Restylane Refyne, Contour, Belotero and Versa. Every cell in your body contains hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance that maintains your cells moisture and plump. Hyaluronic Acid is like a small water balloon since it can hold 1000 times its weight in water. Once injected the lips immediately look smoother, more supple and younger.
How do lip fillers work?
You may now use dermal fillers to improve the symmetry of your facial features, whether it's due to age or a personal choice. What kind of outcomes can I expect to see?
The size and contour of your lips will likely be altered because of the instant volume that fillers offer. Some people may notice a brief few days of swelling. Some people may need further treatments to get to the ideal size and shape they want. Are lip injection results permanent?
Lip injections have a long-term effect, lasting anywhere from three months to nine months. Afterward, you may return for touch-up sessions as you see fit.
Do lip fillers look unnatural?
No. It's almost impossible to tell that you've had a lip augmentation since it feels and looks like your own. You can go right back to kissing, eating and talking, only looking a bit sexier in the process ;-)
How long does a lip filler treatment take?
30-45 minutes is the average time a lip filler treatment will take from beginning to end.
I have a certain vision for my lips, can you make it a reality?
You may bring in images of your ideal lips to enable our injectable nurses to help you reach your cosmetic objectives. The possibilities of what is possible may be discussed during your free consultation. Better yet, bring in a picture of yourself several years ago and you will see your lips are depleting in volume. We don’t inflate lips, we re-volumize them.
How much lip filler do I need?
One syringe is all that most applicants need to achieve their objectives, and this may be accomplished in a single visit. Some clients prefer to start with a partial syringe and we can do that too.
Can I get lip fillers if my lips are very thin?
Those with a smaller mouth may need more filler to attain their desired results. Multiple visits may be required over weeks or months.
What if I don't like the filler I've chosen?
All our FDA-approved hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with an enzyme so if you don't like your new lips for any reason, we can dissolve the filler.
Is Lip Injection a good idea for everyone?
We advise patients with cold sores or herpes outbreaks to postpone lip injections until the outbreak is fully cured. Also anyone with a dermatological condition or rash should wait to get lip filler. It is advised to wait two weeks after dental procedures before getting lip injections.
How much recovery time is required after a lip injection?
Except for working out, sun exposure or drinking on the day of your injection appointment, you may resume your usual activities (because exercise or drinking may increase the possibility of swelling).
How long does swelling from lip injections last?
If you're prone to bruising or swelling, this normally lasts for three to six days. Swelling may be reduced with the use of ice packs or arnica (both before and after therapy).
Are there any lip filler side effects?
Bruising and swelling may develop after injection, as they do with any other procedure. Mild tenderness is also common for a few days. If you have any other concerns, please bring them up during your free appointment at BabyFace.
Do I need to do anything to prepare for lip fillers?
For at least 1-3 days before your lip filler treatment, you should avoid excessive drinking, fish oils, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications such as Advil, since they may increase your risk of bruising or swelling. Before their consultation, many people choose to take Arnica to help prevent swelling and bruising (arnica may be found at your local drugstore, health food store or naturopath).
Is it okay to get lip fillers just before a special occasion?
Because swelling or bruising can sometimes occur, as a precaution we highly suggest that you get your lip fillers at least 2-3 weeks before any particular event or picture session.
What should I do after getting lip fillers?
Other than keeping your lips moisturized, most people don't need any more post-treatment maintenance. Aquaphor or Lip Smart are products that we recommend initially rather than lipstick or lip gloss because they can carry bacteria.
How often should I expect to return for lip filler touch ups?
In some cases, patients may choose to have another filler session between three and six months after therapy.
Will my lips deflate if I stop getting injections?
No. When the filler in your lips wears off, they will revert back to their pre-filler shape and size.
